Our Grooming Policy: We Groom Humanely

Our policy when a dog is presented to us in a severely matted condition, is to shave the whole coat using electric clippers with a close blade.

To groom out a matted coat would cause the dog massive distress, pain and discomfort, often leaving a very thinned and damaged coat. Shaving the dog is far more humane. Many dogs are traumatised by hours of avoidable, painful de-matting, putting the dog off grooming for life. We consider shaving in these circumstances, an act of kindness.

I understand that most customers would like a traditional style and therefore we can start afresh with a brand new coat on your following visits, provided your dog has regular visits, the frequency of which I can advise you upon.

Consultation

With all new customers, I will hold a free consultation to discuss any issues your doggie has, such as medical and temperament. We will also take this opportunity to discuss the styling of your doggie.

This information will be kept on record for future use.

You will be required to fill in a release form and doggie/owner form, please see forms tab, or fill in one at your appointment.
